  • Sensations It is a light straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. Fine and persistent bubble of slow evolution, with good rosary formation. Clean and very fruity aroma, with hints of apple, notes of caramel and a background of fresh herbs and balsamic touches, such as menthol. The palate is elegant and balanced, fruity and fresh, with notes of ripe apple and syrups. Very well integrated carbon, with excellent sugar-acid balance. The finish is long and delicate.

    Cava Agust Torell Mata Reserva
  • The base cuvée is the traditional one for a good Cava. Agustí Torelló Mata Reserva 2016, in fact, comes from a blend of the three typical grape varieties of the region Macabeo, Xarello and Parellada. An unmistakable style that is consolidated with at least two years of maturation in the cellar, in the dark and in total silence. The result is a bubble characterized by a beautiful straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. The bubble, fine and persistent, rises slowly from the bottom of the goblet, forming uninterrupted chains. The nose reveals a wine with a strongly fruity character, with hints of green apple and citrus. Then notes of caramel, fresh herbs and balsamic touches, like menthol. In the mouth, it is elegant and balanced. Always fruity, we find sensations of ripe apple. But at the same time it is fresh and rewarding, with a nice, well-integrated effervescence and an excellent balance between sugars and acidity. Good already today, it has a discreet ageing potential. We can certainly wait a few years to appreciate it at its best, perhaps pairing it with a rich fish-based menu.

    Agustí Torreló Mata, the son of tailors and musicians, was introduced at a very young age to the world of Cava, which soon became his passion and profession. In 1953, he inaugurated the first analysis laboratory in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, and over the years has managed important wineries in the sector. However, the milestone came in 1959, when he founded his own company, which allowed him to create his personal brand, Agustí Torreló Mata, in 1993. President and founder of the Honor of the Cava Association, first oenological gold medal of the Ministry of Agriculture and agricultural merit medal of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Agustí has had plenty of opportunities to prove his worth. Today the company has underground cellars where, protected from light and with constant humidity and temperature, excellent Metodo Classico wines mature, often with exceptional complexity. The winery produces only Reserves and Grand Reserves.
