Piemonte Sauvignon Tra Donne Sole DOC - Vite Colte

A beautiful expression of the most beloved white grape variety, originally from France but well adapted to different climates. We are talking about Sauvignon Blanc, an aromatic grape which, according to the climate and the soil where it is planted, can express itself with very different wines. Yields in the vineyard are kept deliberately low in order to obtain a complex and at the same time well-balanced wine. Bright straw yellow in colour. The dominant notes on the nose are those of vegetation, typical of the variety. This is followed by white flowers and hints of nice minerality. In the mouth it is fresh, pleasantly acidic and richly fruity.

180 contributing members, for about three hundred hectares of vineyards. These are the numbers of Vite Colte, a wonderful company in the region of Piedmont that produces good DOC and DOCG wines of the region. The imposing and highly technological winery is located in Barolo, in the heart of the Langhe. A large part of the vineyards are cultivated according to the strict rules of organic farming. Those that are not certified, however, are managed with modern criteria, according to the dictates of integrated agriculture. The harvested grapes are therefore healthy and vital. And the wines produced there are rich and uncomplicated. From Barolo to Barbaresco, from Barbera to Nebbiolo, to bubbles and spirits, all the labels of the company deserve to be tasted.

  • Vinification There is a double harvest: one slightly early to have acidity and richness of varietal aromas typical of Sauvignon and one slightly delayed to have richness of extraction and aromas of tropical fruit. After alcoholic fermentation, the Sauvignon (minimum 85%) rests and decants at a low temperature and the Chardonnay undergoes malolactic fermentation and matures a few months on the lees.
