A red wine, produced from a pure vinification of Malvasia Nera grapes, coming from the company's vineyards located between Monteiasi and Montemesola, in the province of Taranto. We are in the heart of the Apulian "tavoliere", at an altitude of less than 20 metres above sea level. The grapes, having reached perfect ripeness, are harvested mechanically and brought to the winery within a few minutes. This is essential to preserve all the goodness of the raw material. Fermentation in steel vats at a controlled temperature and ageing, again in steel, for four months followed by a further two months resting in the bottle before release. Ruby colour with violet reflections, the nose reveals a wide range of aromas from wild strawberry to ripe cherry. Soft on the palate, the finish reveals a pleasant sweet and persistent note. A red wine with good structure and personality, Passaturo is a pleasant accompaniment to cured meats and grilled meats.
The history of Vetrère is lost in time. Its origins are certainly very old, to the point that a map dating from the 18th century already bears witness to its presence. At the time, it belonged to the Troilo family. Then, in 1903, the young Serafina Troilo married Michele Ammazzalorsa, who later left his property to his nephew, Enrico Bruni, father of the current owners, Annamaria and Francesca. There have been five generations at the helm of the company, which produces typical Salento wines. The winery is located at the 16th kilometre along the Monteiasi-Montemesola provincial road. We are in the province of Taranto. The winery is located inside a beautiful structure dating back to the early 19th century, entirely made of tufa stone, typical of Salento.
