    "Peperino" Toscana Rosso IGT 2019
  • Looking absent-mindedly at the label of this wine, one might overlook the unusual representation of a warrior rabbit, complete with shield and spear, mounting a snail with a human face. It looks like the work of a psychedelic cartoonist. While in reality it is the reproduction of unlikely killer bunnies that appear on illuminated manuscripts. After all, this is the world of wine. A world made up of curiosities and details that need to be uncovered with a small light to give meaning and value to what we buy. Not just wine. Culture Pills. Peperino is a blend of 60% Sangiovese and 60% Merlot, proposed by Teruzzi after aging for about a year partly in stainless steel and partly in French oak barriques and tonneaux of third and fourth passage. Not excessively deep ruby red, the nose has good intensity and persistence, with subtle notes of wood that blend with the fruity ones. In the mouth it is pleasant but firm and full-bodied, with a tannic note well present but perfectly balanced by the fruit. The finish is long and pleasant.

San Gimignano is called the Manhattan of the Middle Ages, for its incredible towers. Here, in the shadow of this incredible skyline, Teruzzi was born in 1974. A winery that has always been considered modern, constantly searching for the most innovative solutions to produce the best wines. The heart and soul of the Cantina was the engineer Teruzzi, a passionate winemaker, as he liked to call himself. Today, almost 50 years later, this star has also become part of the galaxy of the Moretti family.180 hectares, 94 of which are planted with vines, Teruzzi pursues a single goal, that of making the most of the rich oenological heritage represented by Vernaccia. It is no coincidence that 60 hectares are dedicated to this incredible vine, capable of producing wines of great value. Pioneers in the search for avant-garde working methods, at Teruzzi rigour and cleanliness are the fundamental ingredients of a style that is difficult to imitate. The Teruzzi style.
