Cuvée Marthó, known as "the lively one". This interesting proposal from Pitzner Winery comes from a selection of Moscato giallo, 70%, and Pinot Grigio 30%. Vinification involves a delicate pressing of whole grapes, followed by a maceration period of about 12 hours. Fermentation in stainless steel, with refinement on the skins, but only of Moscato Giallo, for four days. A slow refinement "sur lies” follows, until the beginning of March. In the glass it is a beautiful bright golden yellow colour with pinkish reflections. On the nose, summer scents dominate, with pleasant floral and white melon notes. Then peach, ripe apricot and nutmeg. In the mouth, however, it is elegant and flavourful, perfectly balanced, with a pleasant mineral perception and a juicy note on the finish. It is the glass to choose for a fun-filled aperitif. But also a wine suitable for accompanying particular and spicy dishes, such as those of Asian cuisine.
For once, the dusty coat of arms is countered by a sparkling good mood. The two eclectic brothers, Markus Thomas Puff, run their small boutique winery near Bolzano.
