    "Maremeo" Bianco Terre Siciliane IGP 2022
  • Maremeo is a blend from white grapes. A fresh and carefree wine inspired by the joyfulness of the foam of the Mediterranean Sea. A fragrant, marine wine, to sip in company while gazing at the horizon. Perfect for summer and a life on holiday! Terre Siciliane IGP, Marameo by Tenuta Gorghi Tondi is made from grapes from south-western Sicily, the Trapani countryside, and the Belice Valley. Specifically, it is a blend of local and international white grapes, Sauvignon blanc, Catarratto and Traminer aromatico, in different percentages depending on the vintage. From young vines, harvested between the second and third decade of August. In the cellar, the grapes are immediately subjected to a soft pressing and the must is fermented in steel at a controlled temperature. The resulting wine then matures in steel tanks, in contact with its fine lees, for at least five months before bottling. Finally, it rests a few more months in the bottle before going to market. In the glass, Maremeo has a beautiful pale golden colour with greenish highlights. On the nose, semi-aromatic Sauvignon notes, with hints of lime and passion fruit, together with peach and a light spicy note. In the mouth, however, it is perfectly balanced. It is fresh and fragrant, with lively acidity and good persistence. Perfect with vegetable soups, fresh cheeses, ricotta and goat cheese. Also suitable with shellfish and white meats.

    Clara and Annamaria Sala are two true women of wine. They are daughters of art and today they are the face, young and sunny, of a beautiful Sicilian winery. We are talking about Gorghi Tondi, an estate located in Mazzara del Vallo, within a natural context of rare beauty. We are, in fact, inside a WWF protected oasis, where the blue of the sky and the sea blend with the whiteness of the beach and the green of the vineyards that reach just a few metres from the shoreline. An enchanting place to visit where, after having quenched the spirit, one also has the opportunity to taste wines of great elegance. Gorghi Tondi was born from the love of nature of Dora, Annamaria and Clara's great-grandmother. In 2000, father Michele, with over forty years' experience in the world of wine, decided, together with his wife Doretta and daughters, to start his own company, focusing on the production of organic and sulphite-free wines. The grapes are cultivated between the sea and the land, within the integral nature reserve Lago Preola e Gorghi Tondi, in Mazara del Vallo. 130 hectares, cradled by the sea breeze. Unique and unrepeatable environmental conditions.
