"Brentino" Rosso Veneto IGT 2021

Veneto IGT, Brentino is a red wine of great character proposed by Maculan. Merlot for about 55% and Cabernet Sauvignon for the rest, Brentino is a classic Bordeaux blend, produced with grapes from the best vineyards on the banks of the Brenta, in the DOC Breganze area. We are in a corner of the province of Vicenza, where the climate is mild and the soils are rich in minerals and tuff. The production process begins with a hand harvest of the best grapes selected directly in the vineyard. This is followed by a fermentation phase in steel tanks, after which the wine is sent through a slow maturation phase. Approximately half of the mass is left in steel tanks for a year, while the other half is placed in French oak barriques. At the end of maturation, the two parts are re-assembled and the wine bottled. It thus turns out in red characterised by an intense ruby colour with garnet hues. Ample and fruity bouquet, with slight hints of wood due to the time spent in barriques, in the mouth it is appreciated above all for its pleasantly dry flavour and good body. A balanced wine with character, it closes with a good persistence. On the table it goes well with savoury first courses. Excellent with game, roasts and classic grilled meats.
