Inama Azienda Agricola, Località Biacche, 50, 37047 San Bonifacio (VR)
A soft, juicy red, offering cherry, plum and bark with chocolate undertones. It’s full and layered with plenty of ripe fruit and a flavorful finish. A very pretty Veneto red. Drink or hold.
Bradisismo is one of the most loved and appreciated labels of the Inama winery in the world. It is, as we read on the winery's website, 'our classic reserve'. Produced since 1997, the particular name recalls the geological event that generated the Berici Hills territory. Made from 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Carmenere, this wine is produced with grapes from organically farmed vineyards. What makes this red wine unique is certainly the presence of Carmenere, a grape variety dear to the Inama winery's technicians, which strongly characterises the blend and blends so well with Cabernet Sauvignon that it is considered a valid alternative to a Supertuscan or a top Bordeaux. Moreover, the wine enjoys an excellent value for money. It matures for about 15 months in only 50 per cent new barriques, and expresses a synthesis of the intense ripe, concentrated cherry aroma of Cabernet Sauvignon, together with the lively notes of Carmenere, such as pepper, cocoa and berries. Bradisismo is an exciting red wine for the whole meal. Ideal to accompany grilled meat, it has enough stuffing to hold its own with savoury meats such as lamb or kid and medium-aged cheeses. A great red that never disappoints.
The history of the Inama winery is deeply linked to that of its founder, Giuseppe Inama, who for over forty years invested his energies in the vineyards on Monte Foscarino. What he considered, probably rightly, to be one of the most important territories in the Soave area. The winery is located in San Bonifacio, in the province of Verona. The first bottles produced by Inama date back only to 1991. The first wine was a Sauvignon, a new variety for the area, which was called 'Vulcaia', to emphasise the uniqueness of a soil of ancient volcanic origin that deserved to be enhanced with shrewd vinification and a focus on quality rather than quantity. Today, the winery is run by Stefano, Giuseppe's son, who is proving to be one of the area's most eclectic winemakers, capable of daring with innovative choices that often break with tradition. With him are Matteo, Alessio and Luca, who represent the third generation of the family. 30 hectares of land, mainly cultivated with white varieties, and conducted with passion and competence. Organic in fact, even before the label.
