"Palazzo dell' Torre" Veronese IGT - Allegrini

Villa dell' Torre, a splendid Renaissance palace that has become the symbol of Amarone, is the estate owned by the Allegrini family from which this intriguing Veronese red wine, Palazzo dell' Torre, originates. A symbolic wine of the company that has made the Allegrini brend famous worldwide. It is made from Corvina and Rondinella grapes, to which a small percentage of Sangiovese is added. After the harvest, only a part of the grapes is left to dry, while the rest is immediately taken to the cellar to be vinified. In the month of December, then, the dried grapes, softly crushed and carefully destemmed, are added to the steel tanks where the wine produced from fresh grapes rests, causing a new very slow fermentation. Later, the resulting wine matures in second-hand French oak barriques for a period of at least 15 months and in the bottle for another 7. Dark ruby red in colour, it has a rich and particularly ample bouquet. The mouthfeel is structured and smooth. Decidedly elegant and definitely persistent.

It is considered one of the symbolic producers of Valpolicella Classica and has always been recognized as one of the most important and significant Italian wineries. Owned by the Allegrini family since the sixteenth century, today it can count on over one hundred hectares of vineyards in the historic areas of the appellation. Attentive to innovation and respect for the environment, they aim to achieve full sustainability and organic certification. In the winery, over the years, there have been many innovations and improvements, starting with the use of barriques to reduce the period of aging so as not to distort the varietal imprint of the grapes.

  • Sensations A wine with an elegant and harmonious profile, endowed with good structure and aromaticity. Ruby red in colour with violet hues, it opens with light scents of raisins, echoed by sophisticated notes of vanilla, black pepper, cloves and cinnamon. The palate is velvety, the tannins are soft and the finish is long and persistent.
  • Vinification Pressing and destemming of fresh grapes in September, pressing and destemming of raisin grapes in the second half of December. The processing is in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. Refinement: Maturation in seond hand French oak barrels for 15 months, mass for 2 months and refinement in bottle for 7 months
