Luce is not just a wine. Luce is a project, an idea. The first to be produced from a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot in Montalcino. And that is why it is labelled as a simple Toscana IGT. But do not run the risk of underestimating it. On the contrary, we are in the presence of one of the most loved Tuscan reds in the world, awarded and re-awarded every year by the most severe international wine critics. But let us proceed with order. Luce della Vite is the Frescobaldi family's Montalcino estate. It is said of it: "When the sun rises in the east every day, it gives life to the Luce vineyards that cover the slopes to the southwest of the village of Montalcino. A sparsely populated area, surrounded by wild nature and rich in biodiversity'. This is where the grapes, 45% Sangiovese and 55% Merlot, from which this 2017 Luce is produced come from. The result of a climatically very positive season, with a cool spring and adequate rainfall, followed by a warm and sunny summer, with little humidity and beneficial breezes that made the skies always clear and bright. Luce thus presents an intense, almost impenetrable ruby red colour. The nose reveals intense hints of red fruit, a veiled presence of incense and spicy notes that give it an extraordinary complexity. In the mouth, finally, you find this pleasant aromatic complexity, well supported by an elegant tannic texture that gives the wine structure and balance.

Thirty generations and over 700 years of history. With these two "business cards", the Frescobaldi company presents itself on markets throughout the world as an absolute protagonist with the objective of being the most prestigious Tuscan wine producer. Today the company can count on an immense area of vineyards. We are talking about over 1000 hectares, scattered in the most interesting wine-growing areas of the region. The annual production is around seven million bottles and includes all the most important denominations, from Chianti to Pomino, Montalcino and Maremma. In each area, traditional varieties are cultivated, thanks to a perfect knowledge of the specific terroirs. Never as in this case ... experience really makes the difference.
