  • Sensations The fruity and fresh character of this wine is enhanced by the sensation of small berries and ripe blackberries. In the mouth it is smooth and supple with a pleasant final persistence that returns to the fruits heard on the nose. Rightly ripe fruit, blackberries, small berries, light underbrush and floral notes. Wine endowed with good body. Ripe and persistent tannins with finish on sweet fruitiness that makes for pleasant drinking. Goes well with elaborate first courses (baked pasta, cannelloni, lasagna), grilled meat or fish main courses (perfect with tuna and amberjack), roasts. Medium to long aged cheeses. Serving temperature: Optimum below 20 degrees; when paired with fish, optimum at 15 °C

    "Annibale" Calabria IGT 2018
  • His label certainly stands out. Clear are the references to the epic feat of Hannibal and his elephants. In this case, Hannibal is an IGT Calabria, produced by Le Moire. An unusual blend of Sangiovese (40 percent) and Magliocco Dolce (60 percent), a native cultivar of Calabria that is characterized by its antiquity and importance in the region's wine production. Careful processing begins with manual selection of the grapes. In the winery, a slow maceration of the grapes at a controlled temperature and the soft crushing continue. Everything is done to preserve the typicality and fragrance of the ripe fruit, enhancing the characteristics of the grape varieties used. The resulting wine thus has a fruity and fresh character, expressed through the notes of small berries and ripe blackberries. In the mouth, it is smooth and supple, with a pleasant final persistence that recalls the fruits heard earlier. Excellent with elaborate first courses, such as baked pastas, cannelloni and lasagna, but also with grilled meat or fish main courses and medium-long aged cheeses.

    Founded in 2006, Le Moire is a winery with an exclusive Calabrian winemaking vocation, whose mission is to redeem the territory. The winery covers about 6 hectares, four of which are already planted with vines, with an annual production of just under 30 thousand bottles.
