Born in the heart of Latium, in Cori, 350 metres above sea level, Il Bello is a white IGT Lazio wine from Azienda Agricola I Lori. The company's vineyards are rooted in a predominantly tufaceous soil that gives the wine an unmistakable mineral character. The Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and warm summers, completes the picture, giving grapes rich in aromas and flavours. The absolute protagonist of this white wine is the Bellone, an indigenous Lazio vine, whose bunches, harvested at the right degree of ripeness, undergo soft pressing to extract the noblest part of the must. This is followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature for about 20 days, which enhances the fruity and floral aromas. The wine then matures for at least 60 days on the noble lees, developing complexity and structure. In the glass, it has a beautiful, luminous straw yellow colour. On the nose, it reveals a fresh scent, with clear notes of white flowers and white-fleshed fruit, including peach and pear. In the mouth, however, it conquers with its softness and elegant body. The marked freshness, finally, makes it lively and persistent, offering a satisfying and never tiring sip. Il Bello is the ideal companion for fish dishes, white meats and fresh or medium-aged cheeses.
