Borgo alla Terra is a Chianti that belongs to the appellation of Colli Senesi, DOCG. A well-circumscribed hilly area that embraces the city of Siena, covering the southwest area of Chianti Classico DOCG, the historic area of the denomination. The production rules are even stricter, if compared to those of traditional Chianti. Increased selection, for a high quality final product. The starting cut is simple. Sangiovese 90%, Canaiolo 10%. In the cellar, "Quelli del Geografico" make use of modern winemaking techniques, to express all the fruity but rustic charm of a Chianti of great quality. Goal achieved perfectly. You only have to uncork a bottle to realize that. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe cherry, wild berries, anise and even slight hints of spice. The mouthfeel it reveals itself as a pleasantly savoury and elegant red, with clear memories of raspberry jam and a hint of herbs. All well balanced by velvety and ripe tannins.
