    Damilano Brut Metodo Classico
  • Natural class and innate elegance. This is how we could describe the bubbly born from the mind and experience of the historic Damilano winery. After all, this classic method was born 'from the most classic' of encounters, that between the structure of Pinot Noir and the pleasantness of Chardonnay. With the 'plus' of a territory, that of the Langhe, which alone is a guarantee of high quality. Slowly re-fermented in the bottle, this sparkling wine spends at least 24 months in contact with the lees before disgorging, acquiring the right degree of maturity and personality. In the glass, therefore, it has a beautiful straw yellow colour with golden highlights. This shade gives the wine a particular luminosity. The perlage is fine and persistent and slowly conveys the most delicate aromas towards the nose. Citrus notes, recognisable grapefruit, delicate hints of toasted hazelnut and brioche. All accompanied by hints of vanilla. In the mouth, it reveals great finesse and savouriness, while the pleasant acidity contributes to enhancing its character. A sparkling wine with a fine personality, it pleasantly accompanies fish and shellfish dishes.

Damilano is one of Barolo's historic wineries with ancient traditions. Over a hundred years old, even. In fact, the Damilano family's activity dates back to 1890, when Giuseppe Borgogno, great-grandfather of the current owners, began cultivating and vinifying the grapes he owned in the commune of Barolo. However, it was with the next generation, with Giacomo Damilano, the founder's son-in-law, that the winery took on its current name. Since 1997, his grandsons have been at the helm of the fine Langa winery. Guido, Mario and Paolo Damilano carry on the work of their ancestors with commitment, making the most of the Langhe's main grape variety, Nebbiolo, and the most suitable vineyards. But the secret of the high quality of Damilano wines is to be found in the vineyards, located in the elective areas for the production of Nebbiolo grapes, such as the Cannubi, Liste, Brunate and Cerequio Cru.
