We are in the heart of the Bordeaux region, one of the most important wine-producing areas in the world. More precisely, we are in the galaxy of producers that surround the banks of the Garonne and Dordogne rivers, an area shaped by millennia of alluvial sediments. Here, the terroir is a veritable mosaic: clay, limestone, gravel and sand alternate, creating perfect conditions for different grape varieties. In this area, the proximity of the Atlantic Ocean provides a temperate climate and a certain amount of humidity, which is essential for the slow and complete ripening of the grapes. It is said that in Bordeaux, thanks to the stable climate and the skill of the winegrowers, excellent vintages are not a surprise, but a tradition. Bordeaux Supérieur AOC means, in simple terms, that this red wine has an edge over classic Bordeaux AOC wines. To obtain this designation, wines must comply with stricter production rules, such as lower yields per hectare and, above all, ageing in barrels or a slightly higher minimum alcohol content, which guarantees greater structure and ageing potential. In short, the promise of a fuller and more complex red, without necessarily reaching the stratospheric prices of the “Cru Classés”. The heart of this blend is Merlot (50%), which gives softness and hints of ripe black fruit, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), the backbone of the blend, which adds structure, elegance and ageing potential. Finally, a touch of Cabernet Franc (10%) contributes a spicier aromatic profile and a slight herbaceous liveliness, completing the picture with finesse. In the glass, it is a beautiful dense purple red, almost ink-like. The bouquet is generous and complex, while the palate is wonderfully aromatic and balanced. The finish is long, with an aftertaste that immediately invites you to take another sip. At the table, try it with a tasty slice of beef with rosemary and coarse salt or couscous with stewed meat, such as lamb or beef.
