    CHARACTERISTICS
    • TypeVino rosso fermo
    • Location Bordeaux
    • Grapes cabernet sauvignon 80%, merlot 10%, cabernet franc 5% e petit verdot 5%
    • Sensations The colour is a deep, dark garnet with brilliant reflections. The nose is very pure, with refreshing aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry and sour cherry, along with notes of peppermint, cedar and rootwood. Smooth and fresh on the palate, it charms with its density and silky tannins. This vintage expresses the character of each grape variety perfectly. The finesse and fruity intensity of Merlot combine with the elegance of Cabernet Franc, the lively fruity and spicy character of Petit Verdot and the freshness and ageing potential of Cabernet Sauvignon. The finish is persistent, revealing delicious notes of graphite and liquorice.
    • Vinification After manual harvesting in small crates, during which the grapes are selected directly on the vine, they undergo a second selection on an optical sorting table. The grapes are then transferred by gravity into temperature-controlled vats where alcoholic fermentation takes place. Punch-downs are carried out manually. Maceration lasts about three weeks at a maximum temperature of 30 degrees in vats made of stainless steel, steel-aluminium, truncated-cone cement and wood. Finally, the wine ferments in vats before ageing in barrels, 35% new, for 18 months, including 4 months on the lees.

Domaine de Chevalier Pessac-Léognan Cru Classé 2021
    • Domaine de Chevalier Rouge 2021 is produced in the heart of Pessac-Léognan AOC, among vineyards surrounded by forests that naturally protect the parcels. The 2021 vintage, cooler and more technical, favoured finesse, precision and aromatic definition. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, supported by Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Slow ripening preserved freshness and balanced structure. In the cellar, extraction was carefully calibrated to maintain tension and clarity. Oak ageing integrates the wine without overshadowing the fruit. In the glass it reveals blackcurrant, blackberry, graphite and subtle smoky notes. The palate is linear, with a defined tannic texture and steady progression. Freshness supports the structure, offering drive and ageing potential. It is a Cru Classé that interprets the Left Bank with control and restraint. A refined Bordeaux built to evolve with balance over time.

In the heart of Pessac-Léognan, among forests and vineyards that naturally protect the parcels, Domaine de Chevalier is one of Bordeaux’s historic signatures. Classified as a Grand Cru Classé de Graves, it is a benchmark for elegance and longevity. The estate’s roots date back to the 17th century and over time it has developed a style based on balance and precision. Gravel soils ensure perfect drainage and slow ripening, a key element for Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and also for the great whites based on Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. The estate is family-run, with a rigorous approach to grape selection and vineyard work. In the cellar, technology and restraint combine to preserve purity and definition. Domaine de Chevalier wines are known for their fine structure, aromatic depth and ageing potential. They do not seek excess, but rather consistency over time. It is Bordeaux in its most refined form, designed for those who appreciate terroir identity and stylistic control.
