Imbottigliato all'origine da Chateau Carbonnieux - Chem. Peyssardet, 33850 Léognan, Francia
There is a moment in Bordeaux when the light shifts and the vineyards of Pessac-Léognan seem to breathe slowly under the Atlantic sun. It is here that Château Carbonnieux Cru Classé Blanc is born, in a terroir where ancient gravel soils and ocean breezes shape wines of balance and precision. From the very first glance, its elegant, luminous, almost crystalline nature is clear. On the nose, it opens with vibrant citrus, white flowers and delicate herbal notes, followed by subtle hints of perfectly integrated oak. On the palate, it is all about harmony: the freshness of Sauvignon Blanc intertwines with the roundness of Sémillon, creating a full, dynamic sip marked by fine, persistent minerality. A white wine that avoids excess, winning instead through balance and the quiet confidence typical of great Cru Classé wines. Ideal with refined seafood dishes or for moments where detail makes all the difference. A wine that tells the story of Bordeaux with authenticity, elegance and depth.
Château Carbonnieux is located in the French town of Léognan, just a few kilometres from Bordeaux, and is therefore part of the Pessac-Léognan wine region. The roots of this historic estate date back to the Middle Ages, although ownership has changed several times over the centuries: since 1956, it has belonged to the Perrin family. Today, the estate covers a total of 170 hectares, of which 92 are under vine. Of these, 50 hectares are dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the region’s typical red grape varieties. The remaining area is planted with Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Pessac-Léognan is in fact one of the few areas in Bordeaux where red and white wines enjoy the same reputation. The vineyards are farmed according to sustainable agriculture practices. No insecticides or herbicides are used; instead, methods that respect biodiversity and encourage the vines to develop their own natural defences are applied.
