All the power of the best Cabernet can be found in this precious wine. This vine, after all, is a real champion, always able to surprise with wines of great personality. Its origin, as everyone knows, is French, in the Bordeaux region to be precise. What some may not know, however, is that at the foot of the Alps, in the heart of Alto Adige, Cabernet has for some time now found an ideal habitat that allows it to express itself to the full, giving rise to full-bodied reds with that typical delicately spicy aroma. Cantina Merano, in particular, uses it to make this Riserva, which captivates at first taste. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in a special rotofermenter for about 15 days. This is followed by organic malolactic fermentation and a long period of maturation in new and used barriques, as well as in small oak barrels. Deep red in colour, this Cabernet has aromas reminiscent of currants, wild cherries, liquorice and leather. In the mouth it reveals a velvety and soft taste, with a nice tannin. A decidedly elegant wine, it has a nice long and pleasant finish. Excellent with game or lamb, it is a red wine that can also be served with a simple grilled beefsteak. Good today, this mountain red is not afraid to age. Stored well in the cellar, it will give us great satisfaction for many years to come.
