If it weren't for the fact that the vineyards from which the grapes for this great red Riserva originate are located in the mountains, at over 1000 meters above sea level, and not on the shores of the ocean, you would almost think you had a good Bordeaux in your hands. After all, the starting blend could remind of it, with the additional presence of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot grapes. Like a classic Bordeaux blend, this Argentinean blend from the Mendoza region is also aged in wooden barrels. Not French oak but American oak which bestows to the finished wine a rather noticeable sweet note. If on the nose it is dominated by fresh fruit and sweet spices, on the palate it reveals a nice acidity that makes it particularly fresh. The red and black fruit hints are back, pleasantly integrated into a wine of great structure, with sweet and delicate tannins.
At the origin of Bodega Los Harolds there is the dream of Octavio Rufino Falasco, like many who emigrated to Argentina from Italy in the first half of the 20th century. Since then, about 80 years have passed and the company has reached absolute quality standards. Today it is Jorge Daniel Falasco who leads the Company facing the new global market challenges. With its approximately 3,000 hectares of vineyards, a size that in our continent is difficult to even imagine, today Los Haroldos is one of the largest wineries in South America, capable of processing over 45 million liters of wine each year. Despite its size, however, the quality of the wines offered by the winery is decidedly high, with peaks of absolute excellence. It is no coincidence, then, that the wines of Mendoza Los Haroldos are now found all over the world, even more than 35 countries in 4 continents, and that the harshest wine critics begin to reward regularly the labels offered.
