It therefore takes no less than two years to be able to taste the first glass of Anno Domini, Malvazija, or Istrian Malvasia, offered here by Benvenuti. A fine family business that has made the enhancement of Croatia's rich ampelographic heritage one of its strengths. In the glass it has a beautiful golden yellow color, with aromas of beautiful intensity, fine and pleasant. In the opening, in particular, spicy notes of white pepper and turmeric dominate. This is followed by hints of ripe fruit, particularly white-fleshed, such as pears, peaches and apples, then herbaceous hints, of bay leaf and rosemary, and beeswax. But also ethereal balsamic, anise and even tobacco notes. It is a wine designed to accompany simple dishes, such as baked fish, as well as savory ones, such as beef tenderloin with truffles and aged cheeses.
