The Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari estates are one of the most interesting wineries in Tuscany, with roots dating back to the 18th century. The Folonari family began their wine-making business in the late 1700s, when Lorenzo Folonari, originally from Valtellina, started an entrepreneurial tradition that would profoundly mark the history of Italian wine. In 2000, Ambrogio and his son Giovanni Folonari founded the Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute winery with the aim of enhancing the family's properties and producing high-quality wines. Today, the company comprises five estates located in some of the most renowned areas of Tuscany. Tenuta di Nozzole, located in the heart of Chianti Classico, Le Tenute del Cabreo, in Greve in Chianti, where Supertuscans such as Cabreo Il Borgo and La Pietra are produced. Then there is Tenuta La Fuga, in Montalcino, Campo al Mare in Bolgheri and Vigne in Porrona in the Tuscan Maremma. The Folonari family has always focused on innovation and quality. In recent years, the company has invested over €9 million in the construction of a new winery at Tenute del Cabreo, designed by architect Carlo Ludovico Poccianti.
