Errazuriz Estate Reserva Carmenére 2019

The story of a successful emigrant. This is certainly the case with Carmenère, a grape variety of noble Bordeaux (from Bordeaux) origins that has, however, only made its fortune on the other side of the world, on vineyards at the base of the Andes in the heart of Chile. If in Bordeaux Carmenère was struggling to find its place, squeezed between two great sacred monsters of enology such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, in Chile it has found fertile ground for its roots, meeting the taste of good local winemakers, committed to its enhancement. As in the case of this Errázuriz Estate Carmenére, proposed by Viña Errázuriz, made with grapes from Valle de Aconcagua. In this case, after careful selection of the best grapes in the vineyard and on a selection table in the winery, a traditional red wine-making process is carried out, ending with a maturation phase in small wood, for about 70 percent of the wine. Intense ruby red color with violet hues. The nose has notes of red bell pepper, with some sweet undertones and tones reminiscent of figs and blueberries. So roasted notes and hints of cloves. The mouthfeel is spicy with notes of black fruits, figs, graphite and bell pepper. Particularly typical for the variety, this Carmenère has fine tannins and a smooth, pleasant taste.
