Malvasia del Lazio, also known as Malvasia puntinata because of the characteristic dark dot that decorates the umbilicus of the grape when it is fully ripe, is a surprising variety. It has the ability to naturally concentrate a lot of sugar and for this reason it is often used to create pleasantly aromatic wines. Unfortunately, it is difficult to cultivate and for this reason, all too often, it is preferred to Malvasia di Candia, which is less qualitative but has a better spirit of adaptation. The one proposed here by Tenuta de' Notari is vinified in purity. Harvested by hand only when perfectly ripe (when the dot is clearly visible), the vinification is simple and aimed at preserving the fragrance of the fruit in the best possible way. Only stainless steel, controlled temperature and refinement in bottle for about 6 months. The result is a wine characterized by a beautiful straw yellow colour, intense aromas of fresh fruit and musk. In the mouth it is savory and fruity. Full-bodied, with a slightly bitter aftertaste, typical for the variety.
