Maritato, IGT Toscana, is a tribute by Podere la Vigna di Montalcino to the old system of vine training, made to grow on a plant instead of being tied to the classic row. A system now abandoned but which was once common in various parts of Italy. Maritato comes from a blend of 70% Sangiovese with some Merlot. Traditional vinification, in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. During maceration, frequent punching down allows for a complete extraction of colour and tannins. This is followed by six months of refinement in wood and a minimum of 4 months in the bottle before release. The result is a beautiful ruby-coloured red, with floral aromas from which violet and mulberry clearly emerge. In the mouth it is ample, with floral and fruity tones from which a discreet structure emerges Of great drinkability, it can count on a long and pleasant persistence.
