Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. This wording on the label is enough to understand that what is on offer here is not just a simple Tuscan red but the King of all wines from the region. Brunello di Montalcino, pure Sangiovese (of the coarse type), a single hill in the province of Siena, years of patience waiting for the wine to mature and reach the right level of pleasantness before ending up on the shelves. The one proposed here by Canneta, in particular, comes only from grapes harvested in the estate vineyards. Here, in addition to cultivation, vinification, storage, bottling and the entire maturation phase also take place. In other words, this Brunello is born, perfected and completed, entirely within the beautiful Tuscan estate, preserving its genuineness and very high quality. Vineyards located over 400 metres above sea level and an ageing period of at least 5 years, 3 of which in oak barrels. These are the basic ingredients to remember. In the glass it has a beautiful intense ruby red colour, with typical aromas of ripe, dark fruit. Small nuances of sweet spices and a delicate hint of wood. In the mouth, then, it is elegant and harmonious, with that slight tannicity that lovers of this Tuscan red like so much. Good today, it certainly has no fear of remaining in the cellar for a few years to continue its maturation, waiting to be uncorked at a dinner with friends. On the table, accompany it with game, elaborate dishes and mature cheeses.
