Ferrador Blanco from Nueve Uvas is a beautiful expression of the Ribeiro Designation of Origin, one of the oldest and most fascinating in Spain. Located in the province of Ourense, in Galicia, this region is characterised by a hilly landscape, crossed by rivers such as the Miño, Avia and Arnoia. The climate is Atlantic with continental influences, with hot summers and mild winters, and a significant temperature range between day and night. The soils are mainly loamy-clay, ideal for growing aromatic white grapes. The name “Ferrador” means “farrier” in Galician, a tribute to the rural tradition of the region, where working in the fields was inseparable from the presence of horses and mules. A blend of Treixadura (70%) and Torrontés (30%), the former gives the wine structure, freshness and fruity notes, while the Torrontés adds floral aromas and a pleasant acidity. The grapes are harvested manually in 20 kg boxes to preserve the integrity of the bunches. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of between 15°C and 18°C for about 15 days. The wine then matures on the lees for two months, acquiring greater complexity and roundness. Ferrador Blanco has a bright straw yellow colour. On the nose, it offers intense aromas of green apple and pineapple, while on the palate it is above all fresh, full-bodied and well-balanced, with a persistent and pleasantly fruity finish.
