Prosecco Tradizione "Primo Franco" Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG Dry
  • It comes from the hills of Treviso. It is called Prosecco Tradizione Primo Franco and is a Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG produced by Nino Franco, the area's iconic winemaker. The production area is a mosaic of suitable soils, where the cool climate and mountain breezes blend with the influence of the Adriatic Sea, creating an ideal microclimate for growing Glera grapes. The high hillside vineyards of Valdobbiadene, from which the carefully selected grapes for this wine come, enjoy optimal sun exposure and draining soil, elements that contribute to the production of grapes rich in aroma and flavour. Produced with grapes cultivated according to sustainable farming practices that respect the environment and the balance of the land, vinification is carried out according to the Charmat method, with re-fermentation in autoclaves. In the glass the bubble is fine and persistent. The nose reveals an intense bouquet reminiscent of exotic fruit, ripe apple, almond and candied lemon peel. In the mouth, a riot of freshness and savouriness, with fruity and floral notes that create an elegant and refined combination. After drinking, a pleasant sensation of cleanliness and creaminess remains in the mouth. A versatile wine, it is excellent as an aperitif and an ideal companion for fish and vegetable starters. It is also perfect with desserts, such as fruit tarts, dry pastries and parfaits.

In 2019, Nino Franco celebrated its 'first' 100 years. In fact, the date of birth of the historic Valdobbiadene winery is 1919. In the beginning, it was Nino's father, Antonio, who believed in the importance of making a quality product. And when control of the family business passed to his son, the path was already marked out. The definitive turning point, however, came with the third generation, that of Primo who, first with his father Nino, and later on his own, succeeded in giving the winery the inevitable modern approach. In the early 1990s, he took over a vineyard where he experimented with new planting techniques and the use of old clones. In the meantime, he continues his close collaboration with winegrowers in the area to develop his idea of enhancing the value of Glera. Flanking him in this difficult work today is his wife Annalisa and daughter Silvia, who supports their father in all production, strategic and commercial choices. From generation to generation, from father to son, the milestone of the first century has been reached all too soon. And good quality bubbles, we are sure, will continue to be the protagonists of the Franco winery for the next 100 years.
