    Champagne Cuvée Alexia Rosé
  • Cuvée Alexia is not any usual Rosé Champagne. First of all, the base is almost entirely Chardonnay, about 90%, and only the remaining portion is Pinot Noir, with the addition of a particular red wine Coteaux Champenois, an AOC (the French equivalent of our DOC), from the same area of Champagne but that includes still wines. The red wine added before bottling for frothing, a minimum of 36 months, gives Cuvée Alexia a fascinating light pink color. A feature of great elegance for a wine that can otherwise count on a floral bouquet, with notes of rose petals, and fruit, especially wild strawberries. On the palate it has the same pleasant sweetness that characterizes the bouquet, with a silky and pleasantly fresh finish. If you are looking for the right glass to pair with your seafood dinner, this could be the solution.

From the heart of the Croquette des Blancs, and more precisely from the village of Vertus, come the Champagnes of Michel Mailliard. The location is about 20 kilometers southeast of Epernay. The founder of the winery, Alexis Mailliard, played an important role in the development of the region and is considered one of the most representative rècoltant of Champagne. Today Michel Mailliard is experiencing the transition between the third and fourth generations of the family. The company can count on about 23 hectares of property, half of which are located in Vertus and the rest in the surrounding areas. The most representative vine of the company is the Chardonnay.
