    "Nina" Rosato Terra d'Otranto DOC 2023
  • We are in the heart of Salento, the homeland of many good wines. Like this DOC Terra d'Otranto Rosato Nina proposed by Cantina Menhir. The essence of Puglia, with its Mediterranean scents and fresh, vibrant taste. It comes from a successful blend of Negroamaro and Ottavianello grapes, two indigenous varieties that thrive in the hot, arid climate of Salento. The vineyards, in this case, have an average age of 10 years and give the grapes unique characteristics. Vinification begins with a cryomaceration phase of about 2 hours to enhance the fruity and floral aromas of Negroamaro. This is followed by fermentation in steel, carried out at a controlled temperature to preserve the fresh and lively character of Ottavianello. Following this, an ageing of 2 months in steel and 2 months in the bottle completes the process, giving the wine complexity and harmony. In the Nina glass, it has a crystal-clear soft pink colour. The nose surprises with the freshness of its decidedly Mediterranean aromas. Raspberry, peach, cardamom and dog rose are recognisable. An elegant and seductive bouquet that invites one to taste, revealing a full and pulpy wine with a perfect balance between freshness and savouriness. A bitter finish gives a pleasant persistence. A versatile wine, it accompanies a variety of dishes. Perfect with fish first courses or light main courses, such as courgettes stuffed with provola and prosciutto. Also ideal as an aperitif or to accompany an evening in company.

Menhir is inspired by the winemaking tradition of Apulia, reinterpreting it in a modern and innovative way.
