It is soft and gentle on the palate, stretching out and opening up with serene authority, thanks to its important fabric and a very pleasing and vibrant acidity.

    The Quater Vitis is a blend of four Sicilian white grapes: Catarratto, Inzolia, Carricante and Zibibbo. The wine is not particularly fragrant (despite the Zibibbo component) with broad and tightly wound aromas of citrus, white rose and crushed pine nut. There are some very mild notes of Sicilian herbs such as dried oregano and aniseed. The wine offers mild acidity and some richness on the close. This vintage is a bit weaker and shorter in my view.

  • This wine is the brainchild of Firriato. The desire to give its many fans the opportunity to taste all of Sicily in a single glass. Quater Vitis, in fact, is a wonderful blend of four indigenous grape varieties, grown in different areas of the island, where each grape has the opportunity to give its best and express its full potential. Catarratto brings fruity and complex aromas, accentuated by the aromatic characteristics of Zibibbo. The elegance of Inzolia comes to their aid completed by the minerality of Carricante, which originates on Etna at an altitude of almost 700 meters above sea level in the Cavanera Estate. The result of this perfect synthesis is a wine characterized by a beautiful bright straw yellow colour, with marked greenish hints. The nose reveals a fine and complex bouquet, with fruity sensations reminiscent of medlar, orange, pineapple and mango, and floral sensations of orange blossom, elder and lime, but also lavender, thyme, ginger and flint. Hard to get bored. Each time you bring the glass closer to your nose you discover a slightly different nuance. It only takes a few minutes of contact with oxygen to discover a new nuance. In the mouth, finally, it is soft and gentle, well supported by a pleasant and vibrant acidity.
