Clerì Charme by Firriato is a rosé wine that captures the carefree freshness of coastal breezes. A wine created to refresh warm summer evenings with a touch of contemporary elegance. We are in Paceco, in the westernmost part of the province of Trapani. In this stretch of land dominated by historic salt pans and windmills, the proximity of the Mediterranean Sea plays a fundamental role. The climate is Mediterranean, yet constantly caressed by cooling winds that temper the high summer temperatures. The limestone and clay-rich soils of this area give the grapes an extraordinary mineral character. Clerì Charme is the result of a particularly successful blend of three grape varieties that are symbols of Sicilian winemaking: Syrah, Frappato and Nerello Mascalese. Syrah contributes structure and an intriguing aromatic touch. Frappato brings its characteristic aromas of fresh red berries and its natural lightness. Finally, Nerello Mascalese provides the acidic backbone and elegant finesse that lengthens the palate and creates perfect harmony in the glass. The winemaking process focuses entirely on delicacy in order to preserve the grapes’ primary aromas. Harvesting is carried out exclusively by hand between late August and mid-September, selecting the moment of ideal acidity. In the winery, the grapes undergo a brief skin contact directly in the press to extract only a delicate shade of colour. This is followed by very gentle pressing and white-wine fermentation at controlled temperature. The wine is then aged for three months sur lie, resting on its fine lees. In the glass, it displays a pale and luminous pink hue that is immediately inviting. On the nose, it reveals a delicate bouquet with clearly defined notes of raspberry and blackcurrant, enriched by hints of orange blossom and aromatic herbs. A distinctive saline note reminiscent of sea air adds further complexity. On the palate, it is expansive, rich and juicy. Its vibrant salinity cleanses the palate perfectly, leaving a fresh, citrusy and remarkably long finish.
