The non-vintage Metodo Classico Brut Dubl Rosato opens to the slightest of slight pink colors and a brightly luminous and crystalline appearance. The Aglianico-based wine sees minimal contact with the skins to achieve such a delicate and feminine hue. It also ages on the lees for 18 months for increased structure and creaminess. This is a delicious, artisan product that is highly recommended to those who love sparkling rosé wines. It closes with fresh notes of sage and balsam herb.
Bread-crust, wild-berry and spring-blossom aromas waft out of the glass. Made with Aglianico, the tangy palate offers strawberry, saline and hazelnut alongside an elegant perlage and vibrant acidity. KERIN O’KEEFE
The DUBL project, a high quality classic method produced from grapes typical of the Campania region, dates back to 2004, even before bubbles became an overwhelming fashion, pushing many producers to try this new way. It was necessary to put together a cohesive team and devote time and considerable resources to the production of grapes suitable for sparkling wine, as well as to the development of a winery capable of enhancing their value. Fortunately, the Capaldo family did not give up and today we can enjoy interesting products. Like this Dubl Rosato, son of Aglianico, a grape variety with a full and rounded taste, and more than 30 months of refinement on the lees. The result is a velvety and persuasive bubble, which strikes the eye for its soft and bright pink colour. On the nose, delicate notes of raspberry, cherry and morello cherry blend and evolve towards hints of cream and pastry. In the mouth it is a wine with a good body, elegant but with a strong taste. Excellent as an aperitif Or as a protagonist on the table, when the menu is delicious and tasty.
There is a subtle fil-rouge that unites everything that has been done at Feudi di San Gregorio since its inception in 1986. It is the desire to make the most of the priceless heritage of indigenous grape varieties of Campania tradition. Starting with Greco, Fiano and Aglianico, the true regional flag bearers. Today the company can count on a total of 300 hectares of vineyards, divided into over 800 plots that differ in altitude, exposure and slopes. A marvellous natural puzzle that perfectly expresses the biodiversity of the territory and is able to give life to extraordinary cru. It is currently one of the leading wineries in Southern Italy, with exports covering more than 50 countries worldwide. The experience gained over the years has therefore led the Capaldo family, who have always been the mind and soul of the company, to decide to explore the winemaking potential of other regions of Italy. This is how the "Tenute Capaldo" project was born, which includes a complex of wineries ranging from DUBL, also from Campania, to Campo alle Comete in Tuscany, passing through Basilisco, an organic winery in Vulture, Ognissole, a biodynamic winery in Puglia, Sirch, in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, and finally FedeGraziani, a small jewel on the slopes of Etna. They all share the same values: to produce wines of excellent quality while respecting their territory.
