Donna Olimpia' Bolgheri White DOC

The Viale dei Cipressi that connects the oratory of San Guido to the historical centre of Bolgheri was made known to us by Giosuè Carducci with his poem Davanti a San Guido'. Guido, like Guido Folonari, who in 2001 gave life to his oenological dream with Donna Olimpia 1898'. In a land made famous all over the world by its great red wines, Guido has decided to bet on white as well. And he convinced us: his Bolgheri Bianco is an excellent wine, exact to the nose, tasty and full in the mouth, decidedly long-lasting. The 2012 stands out for its clean and distinct aromas of citrus (chinotto), white flowers, honey and mineral nuances. In the mouth it is striking for its excellent structure and its very fresh and persistent taste. Once again, congratulations Donna Olimpia! Donna Olimpia 1898 covers an area of about 60 hectares, all located in the Bolgheri DOC area, with 45 hectares of flat land cultivated with vines and some arable land."Donna Olimpia" in honour of Olimpia Alliata, Lady of Biserno and bride of Gherardo dell' Gherardesca, who gave her name to the estate in 1898 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of their marriage.
