A very fashionable variety in recent years, Passerina is synonymous with Abruzzo and the Adriatic coast. Its particular name probably derives from the fact that sparrows often peck at its grapes attracted by the sweetness of the pulp. What is certain, however, is that it is an extremely generous grape variety in terms of production, capable of yielding abundant, good-quality harvests every year. Endowed with excellent natural acidity, Passerina is certainly very versatile and suitable for the production of sparkling wines.
