Merlot Terre di Chieti IGT Bisanzio 2022

It is difficult (if not impossible) to find a fault with this Merlot Terre di Chieti IGP Bisanzio. A wine made to be enjoyable and to satisfy the tastes of a wide audience of fans of the great Abruzzo winery. Citra produces it starting with a manual harvest of the bunches that have reached perfect ripeness. This is followed by a long period of maceration of the skins at a controlled temperature. When the fermentation phase is also definitively concluded, the wine obtained is left to rest in oak barrels, where it also undergoes the so-called malolactic conversion. The result is a wine characterized by a deep red colour with violet hues. The nose is dominated by fruit, with clear notes of blackberry and currant, to which pleasant spicy sensations of leather and pepper are added. In the mouth it is pleasantly harmonious, full-bodied, soft and well structured. If we really want to find a flaw... Let's just say it has a habit of always ending too soon. Better to be prepared and always have a second bottle available.
