An ancient grape variety that was in danger of being forgotten, brought back to life with passion and research: this is how Maiolica was born, an authentic expression of the truest Abruzzo. Recovered thanks to collaboration with the Conegliano Institute of Viticulture, today it is enjoying a new season of splendour under the Cantina Tollo label. Its pale ruby red colour reveals aromas of wild strawberries and raspberries, accompanied by floral notes and a vibrant freshness. On the palate, it is elegant, medium-bodied, with silky tannins and a persistent finish that combines modernity and tradition. Spontaneous vinification in steel, ageing partly in amphorae and the choice not to filter the wine enhance its authenticity and character, restoring the purity of the grape variety to the glass. Perfect with white meats, game or even more structured seafood dishes, Maiolica is the symbol of a rebirth: a wine that tells an ancient story with a new and contemporary voice.
