The symbolic grape variety of the region, Syrah finds in the Côtes du Rhône one of its areas of choice. Here, in fact, the Mediterranean influence and the cool currents coming down from the mountains create ideal conditions for the ripening of this red grape variety. Although local tradition often dictates that Syrah should be blended with other grapes, in this case Chevalier du Prieuré proposes it in purity, resulting in a wine that could be described as 'scholastic' in its conception. Aromatically intense and complex, the nose surprises with the variety of aromas, including notes of dark fruit such as blueberries, blackberries and blackcurrants, accompanied by spicy nuances such as black pepper, white pepper and sweet spices. In the mouth, however, it immediately reveals good structure and body, with well-balanced tannins that give a pleasant sensation of astringency in the mouth.
