    "Adèo" Bolgheri Rosso DOC 2021
  • Bolgheri DOC Rosso Adeo di Campo alla Sughera is the son of the Bolgheri terroir. A territory which, over the course of a few decades, has been able to assert itself with its own precise identity and typicality. Voted for the cultivation of the great international grape varieties originating in Bordeaux, this is one of the few areas where Sangiovese is not the protagonist. In this case, the blend is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon for 60% and Merlot for 40%. Fermentation of the two wines takes place separately in temperature-controlled steel tanks. Then, after blending, Adeo matures for no less than 12 months in French oak barriques, before refining for a further 6 months in the bottle. The result is a beautiful wine characterised by an intense ruby red colour, with ripe red fruit, herbaceous and spicy notes, particularly of eucalyptus, mint and tobacco. Then black pepper, vanilla and sandalwood. The palate reveals a wine with a full and enveloping taste, but at the same time soft and warm. Ripe tannins and a good sapidity, due to the influence of the sea. To appreciate it at its best, we recommend pairing it with red meat dishes, grilled meats or even game.

    We are in Bolgheri, home of the famous Supertuscans. Here, in 1997, the Knauf family, German entrepreneurs who had been in Tuscany for years, went in search of a plot of land on which to build a new winery. After months of studies, they found what they were looking for near the so-called Fossa di Bolgheri, the main waterway in the area, protected by the inland hills that form a natural barrier to cold currents. This is where Campo alla Sughera was born, 20 hectares in the heart of the Bolgheri appellation, more than 16 of which are planted with vines. Between the sea and the hills, sand and marl that enhance the natural complexity and richness of the wines produced here today. Since 2017, this delicate task has been entrusted to the famous oenologist Stéphane Derenoncourt, an internationally renowned winemaker who, in addition to Bolgheri, works as a consultant for numerous estates in Bordeaux and with other winemakers around the world. Part of his philosophy is not to rush. This is why Campo alla Sughera's wines are left to mature without time constraints, in total harmony with nature.
