L'Insouciante by Camille Cayran is a white wine that disregards conventions and goes straight to the heart with its spontaneity. We are in the heart of the Rhône Valley, in an area where nature has been at work for millennia. The vineyards that give life to L'Insouciante rest on calcareous and gravelly soils, which accumulate the sun's heat and slowly release it to the vines. This ideal exposure, combined with the wind that sweeps away humidity, creates the perfect conditions for healthy, concentrated grapes. The Camille Cayran winery is part of the Cairanne cooperative, a group that works with dedication and respect for biodiversity, choosing an approach that values every single bunch of grapes. L'Insouciante is a Côtes-du-Rhône made from a blend of Grenache Blanc (50%), Roussanne (30%) and Marsanne (20%). A fortunate combination that offers a full and satisfying sip. The vinification process aims to preserve freshness and aromatic richness. The grapes are harvested at night, to ensure they are at the right temperature, and are then gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel vats to preserve the primary aromas, while a short period on the lees gives the wine complexity and roundness. Straw yellow in colour with golden reflections, the nose alternates between notes of yellow peach, apricot and citrus fruits such as grapefruit and citron, with a floral touch of hawthorn and a hint of aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is full and enveloping, with a pleasant freshness that balances the richness of the fruit. The taste is persistent, savoury and mineral, with a finish reminiscent of fresh almonds and an elegant balsamic note.
