Imbottigliato all'origine da Ca del Bosco - Erbusco (BS)
Ca' del Bosco's Curtefranca DOC Rosso Corte del Lupo proves that Franciacorta, known worldwide for its high-quality sparkling wines, can also be the land of interesting red wines, giving life to something truly special. The still red and white wines produced on the shores of Lake Iseo fall under the Curtefranca DOC appellation, historically known as Terre di Franciacorta. Ca' del Bosco, with its philosophy devoted to absolute quality and sustainability, treats these vineyards with the same dedication reserved for its Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines. The area enjoys an exceptional microclimate, mitigated by the lake and with mineral-rich morainic soils, perfect for grapes that seek elegance and freshness. At the base is a highly successful international blend inspired by the great Bordeaux reds, based on Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. These are joined by varying percentages of Carménère. The grapes are rigorously selected and undergo a washing process devised by the winery, which serves to clean the grapes perfectly before pressing. Fermentation takes place in steel vats, followed by a long maturation in small oak barrels. The ageing period is 12 months, a period that integrates the wood without overpowering the cleanliness and fragrance of the fruit. A red wine of great class, it has a beautiful intense ruby red colour in the glass. When you smell it, it releases a complex bouquet: hints of red and dark fruit, such as cherry and plum, are well balanced by notes of sweet spices, tobacco and a pleasantly balsamic touch that gives it momentum. In the mouth, it is structured and at the same time incredibly fine. It has a robust body but its tannins are fine and smooth. The balance between freshness and softness makes it a complete wine, with a persistent and clean finish. It is difficult to find a dish that does not pair well with it. It goes perfectly with sliced beef and fillet, roasts and game birds, as well as mature and hard cheeses.
Write Ca' del Bosco and read Franciacorta. Because this sparkling wine producer belongs, in the collective imagination, to the select group of companies of excellence, capable of producing high-quality wines every year, a symbol of “Made in Italy” throughout the world. Its history, which not everyone knows, began in the mid-1960s, when Annamaria Clementi bought a small country house in Erbusco, known locally as Ca' del Bosc. A few years later, her son Maurizio, returning from a trip to Champagne, had the brilliant idea of transforming that small country house into one of the most modern and advanced wineries in the area. Today, Maurizio Zanella can count on a large estate of vineyards, spread across eight different municipalities in Franciacorta. The winery, on the other hand, is modern and hyper-technological, with various works of art and sculpture on display among the fermentation tanks and presses. Ca' del Bosco sparkling wines are now identified with this style and personality. These unique and exuberant wines have been awarded by the most discerning wine critics around the world.
