Its sinuous bottle and ornate label are a "must" for Garda wineries. And that of this Brolettino, Lugana DOC, is no exception. It comes from a pure vinification of Turbiana, or Trebbiano di Lugana, grapes, an indigenous variety of the area. The grapes are harvested when fully ripe, towards the middle of October, and after vinification it is aged in barriques for 10 months, followed by a further 3 months in bottles. The result is a beautifully structured white wine with great ageing potential. Straw yellow, the nose shows hints of ripe fruit, peaches, yellow apples, fleshy roses with fresh and balsamic notes. In the mouth it reveals all its complexity, with a decisive attack, while maintaining freshness and elegance. Full structure and taut acidity make this wine extremely balanced. Ideal with legume soups and pasta dishes with white sauces, it is also at home with white meats, medium mature cheeses or fish and shellfish.
Cà dei Frati is synonymous with quality viticulture in the Lake Garda region.
