    Spumante Asti DOCG
  • Wonderfully sweet, delicately effervescent. We are talking about the Asti DOCG proposed here by Bersano. A bottle truly capable of putting everyone in agreement. Those who only drink Moscato during festivities and those who instead seek such a glass at other times. A unique sweet wine, Asti is the aromatic sparkling wine par excellence. Its unique characteristics are an immediate fragrance with musky aromas and flavours, a balanced and natural sweetness and a moderate alcohol content. This is due to a mild climate and ideal soils for the cultivation of this ancient vine. But also the correct exposure of the vineyard, the health of the grapes, the cultivation and harvesting techniques. All things that are well known to the technicians at the Bersano winery. To be tried. Or rather, not. To drink... From aperitif to dessert, during festivities and when the only thing to celebrate is the bottle chosen to round off a dinner with friends!

More than a century has passed since the Bersano company was founded. The precise date is 1907, as proudly recalled on the home page of the company website. We are in Nizza Monferrato, the heart of the Barbera d'Asti district. The real turning point, however, came only a few years later, in 1935, when Arturo Bersano, a rare man in terms of intelligence and culture, a lawyer by family pride and a vine grower by passion, took control of the Cantina, which until then had been a family-run business and only sold its wines regionally. His work was inspired by the motto 'if you want to drink well, buy a vineyard'. A philosophy that, like a true pioneer, he would follow for the rest of his life. So over time, Bersano and, after him, the Massimelli and Soave families, owners of the Casa Vinicola, consolidated an impressive farmstead. Here, without forgetting the strength of tradition, quality grapes are still produced from which typical wines of the region are made. Special attention has always been paid to the wood for ageing, a real asset for the company. Cantine Bersano, in fact, keep large oak casks and tonneaux where, thanks to the constant temperature and humidity, the wines mature slowly for years. Today Bersano is considered one of the most important wineries in Piedmont.
