Giulin is a Barbera del Monferrato Superiore DOCG, produced since 1995 by the Accornero winery. A wine of tradition that is made from 100% Barbera grapes harvested in estate vineyards. Traditional submerged cap vinification with frequent programmed pumping over to favour the extraction of aromas, colour and tannins, the transformation ends with malolactic fermentation, spontaneously grafted. Cold stabilised, the wine matures in steel tanks and 500-litre French oak tonneaux for approximately 12 months. In the glass it has a classic lively ruby colour. On the nose, it surprises with pleasant fruity aromas of good harmony. In the mouth, however, one discovers a red wine characterised by great pleasantness, with good structure. Savoury and fresh, it is a Barbera with a strong personality. Excellent at any time of day, this Piedmontese wine goes well with cold meats and cheeses, meat dishes, such as the 'legendary' ravioli del plin.
A fine family history. The Accornero family, in fact, have proudly been winegrowers for five generations. And since 1897, they have continued to produce high quality wines with the same passion and commitment that initially drove great-grandfather Bartolomeo. Accornero is located in the heart of Monferrato, in an area defined as the land of Barbera and Grignolino. The winery is located in the municipality of Vignale Monferrato. Here is Ca' Cima, with a vineyard area of 25 hectares. The family's aim is to produce wines that are strongly linked to the territory. To do this, they manage the vineyards in a way that respects the land and the environment, and after the harvest (by hand) the best grapes are taken to a cellar that is equipped with all the latest technology. Innovation, therefore, but also a lot of tradition, since all production processes remain the same as in the past.
