  • Sensations Intense ruby red colour, very clear. Good aromatic intensity, with hints of jam and geranium. Dry and pleasantly sapid, it has a warm and lively structure, in which delicate acidity and soft tannins are perceived. Medium persistence on the palate, with fruity and floral notes. Fresh and clean finish. A wine with good ageing potential.
  • Vinification The grapes arrive in the cellar, where they are destemmed and crushed. Fermentation with the skins lasts 8/10 days at 25/28°C. Malolactic fermentation takes place spontaneously in autumn or in the spring following the harvest. The evolution takes place mainly in stainless steel tanks and, to a small extent, in wooden barrels for about 6 months. Bottled with clarification and very light filtration.

    Cagnulari Isola dei Nuraghi IGT
  • An ancient autochthonous vine, rediscovered and enhanced by Giovanni Cherchi, the Cagnulari is now used in purity to produce this interesting territorial red wine. Isola dei Nuraghi IGT, this wine is the result of a careful selection of the best grapes on the estate, which have reached perfect ripeness. Traditional vinification in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, after racking it is aged in stainless steel tanks and, in small part, in wooden barrels for about 6 months. Only then, after clarification and very light filtration, is it finally bottled. Intense ruby red in colour, this Cagnulari reveals a good aromatic intensity, with hints of jam and geranium. In the mouth it is dry and pleasantly sapid, with a good structure, warm and lively, thanks to a natural acidity. The tannins are soft and well matured. A wine with a good capacity for ageing, this red wine from the territory calls for tasty pairings. Excellent with salami and medium mature cheeses, it can also accompany grilled or stewed meats with satisfaction.

    It all began back in 1970 in Usini, Sardinia. More than 50 years have passed since then, but thanks to the family's dedication and passion, Vinicola Cherchi has achieved its main objective: to make its wines and its territory known and appreciated all over the world. In spite of all the awards, however, they are still proud to be pure vine-dressers, protagonists in every phase of the production of their wine, from the vineyard to the bottle. In the countryside, today as half a century ago, the vines are managed with full respect for the passing of the seasons and the rhythms of nature. The vines that best represent the company are Vermentino, Cagnulari and Cannonau, which find the ideal microclimate in the hills of Usini to grow and become unique and inimitable.
