During the redevelopment of the estate, the Costa family rediscovered an ancient Sangiovese vineyard still grown with the traditional alberello system. It's a small miracle that dates all the way back to 1922. From that discovery the project of Azienda Torre was created, and it is from the grapes produced in vineyards created from the buds of the ancient vineyard that this incredible Sangiovese di Romagna came to be. A red wine with great personality, ideal for any occasion. In the glass it has a beautiful bright ruby red colour, the nose reveals notes of red fruits and fragrant flowers. In the mouth it is extremely gratifying. With a nice body and great exuberance, it certainly does not lack in balance. The integration between all its components is perfect. And the pleasure of drinking lingers for several minutes after each sip thanks to its long persistence.
We are located in Romagna, between the towns of Brisighella and Modigliana in San Martino in Monte. Here is the Azienda Torre, sixty hectares gathered in amphitheatres at about 300 metres above sea level and protected by the gentle hills. The history of the winery dates back to the early 2000s when the Costa family began a long process of redevelopment of ancient vineyards to produce modern, quality wines. During the course of the work, almost by chance, an ancient vineyard came to light, hidden among thick brambles. It was a vineyard of Sangiovese, sapling-bred, of extreme beauty, dating back to 1922. This led to the decision to launch a new project aimed at the archaeological recovery of the vineyard. The strong respect for the soil, the vineyard and the wine produced, guides today every aspect of the management of the Azienda Torre and this management is strictly organic.
