Land of saints and wines'. We are in Castelnuovo Don Bosco, in the Basso Monferrato Astigiano. Here we find Tenuta Tamburnin, whose origins date back to the second half of the 1700s. Today the company can count on no less than 20 hectares of land, 9 of which are vineyards and 2 hazelnut groves. The rest is meadows, woods and a small family vegetable garden. Due to the value of the site, its buildings and the historic wine cellar, Tenuta Tamburnin is placed under the protection of assets of historical and landscape interest. The origin of the curious name derives from the founder, who was inspired by the 'drums' that used to be rolled during the advances of the royal Savoy army, to incite the infantry troops when attacking enemies. Today it is run by sisters Elena, Valeria and Claudia Gaidano, with the help of father Piergiorgio and the advice of oenologist Gianpiero Gerbi of Cordero Consulenze.
