The nose is elegant, intense, with marked and complex varietal notes, in which one recognises notes of tropical fruit, mint, pineapple and white peach. On the palate it is well balanced, full, rich and fragrant with lively acidity and good persistence.
  • Vinification The must ferments in steel, at a controlled temperature, and the resulting wine matures in steel, on fine lees, for 5 months.

    "Coste a Preola" Grillo Sicilia DOC 2023
  • Coste a Preola is a name chosen to pay homage to Sicily and its biodiversity. In fact, this is the name given to the vineyards on the western edge of the island, close to the Mediterranean Sea, in an area bordering the WWF Nature Reserve Lago Preola e Gorghi Tondi. DOC Sicilia, this white wine is certified organic. From the vineyards, which are a few metres above sea level, 100% Grillo grapes. After harvesting, the grapes are soon brought to the winery to begin the delicate transformation phase. The must ferments in steel tanks, at a controlled temperature, and the resulting wine matures, again in steel, in contact with its fine lees, for about 5 months before bottling. In the glass it has a beautiful bright yellow colour with greenish reflections. The nose is elegant, intense, with marked and complex varietal notes. In particular, notes of passion fruit, mint, pineapple and white peach are recognisable. In the mouth, however, it reveals excellent balance. Full, rich and fragrant, it reveals a fresh acidity and good persistence. Particularly recommended with raw fish and shellfish appetisers, it is also excellent with fish soups, baked fish and vegetable timbales.

    Clara and Annamaria Sala are two true women of wine. They are daughters of art and today they are the face, young and sunny, of a beautiful Sicilian winery. We are talking about Gorghi Tondi, an estate located in Mazzara del Vallo, within a natural context of rare beauty. We are, in fact, inside a WWF protected oasis, where the blue of the sky and the sea blend with the whiteness of the beach and the green of the vineyards that reach just a few metres from the shoreline. An enchanting place to visit where, after having quenched the spirit, one also has the opportunity to taste wines of great elegance. Gorghi Tondi was born from the love of nature of Dora, Annamaria and Clara's great-grandmother. In 2000, father Michele, with over forty years' experience in the world of wine, decided, together with his wife Doretta and daughters, to start his own company, focusing on the production of organic and sulphite-free wines. The grapes are cultivated between the sea and the land, within the integral nature reserve Lago Preola e Gorghi Tondi, in Mazara del Vallo. 130 hectares, cradled by the sea breeze. Unique and unrepeatable environmental conditions.
