A very special wine, perfect for lovers of rich mountain whites from the other side of the world. This Osado White Malbec, offered by the Salentein winery, comes from a pure processing of Malbec grapes from the high vineyards of the Uco Valley in the province of Mendoza. We are over 1,000 meters, on the walls of the Andes. The soils here are sandy, with the presence of stones. The grapes ripen in March, when they are hand-picked and immediately brought to the winery in 400-pound containers to begin the winemaking process. A fruit-protective method with inert gases is used in this case. The clusters are squeezed softly, preventing the must from taking on any color. Fermentation lasts for about 15 days, and at the end the wine remains in contact with its lees for at least another 5 months. Bright straw yellow in color, the nose reveals a fresh wine with aromas of fruit, currant, strawberry and white flowers. In the mouth it is pleasantly acidic and persistent. A fine white to be uncorked right from the aperitif but which can also safely accompany delicate fish dishes. Great with a rich stir-fry, for example, or with a delicate baked fish.
