    "Amìra" Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC
  • Nero d'Avola in purity. Cultivated and vinified to perfection to obtain a wine of extreme pleasantness and richness. The climate, warm and Mediterranean on the southern side of the island, and mitigated by sea breezes and the moderate altitude of the vineyards, produces excellent grapes rich in aroma and flavour. "Amìr", which means "Prince" in Arabic, does not deny its noble origins. In the glass it is a beautiful deep ruby red colour. The nose surprises for the fragrance of its scents ranging from fresh fruit to floral and Mediterranean scrub. It finishes with a light spiciness. On the palate it is dry and savoury. A fine, elegant wine with a nice structure and a long, pleasant finish.

Sicilian, or rather very Sicilian, the Feudo Principi di Butera winery actually belongs to the large Venetian group Zonin1821. It is located in the province of Caltanisetta, one of the most suitable territories for the production of Nero d'Avola. Here, in fact, the island's hot climate is mitigated by frequent sea breezes that help lower the daytime temperatures, giving respite to the grapes that reach perfect ripeness without losing their natural acidity. The Zonin family has established its Sicilian headquarters in a perfectly restored ancient feud. The vineyards extend over about 180 hectares of property, between 250 and 350 metres above sea level. Low yields and extensive use of indigenous grapes, including Nero d'Avola, Grillo and Inzolia. Obviously, there is also no lack of international vines that are better suited to living in such a hot environment. The production of still wines is superb, but also that of unusual bubbles.
