Merlot Alto Adige DOC 2018

Cantina Martini & Son offers an elegant pure Merlot, from its vineyards in Cornaiano, Naun area. Harvested by hand and carefully selected bunches of grapes that have reached perfect ripeness, this wine is aged in large wooden barrels that give it the right personality, without excessively affecting the flavour. In the glass it has a garnet red colour, very compact and intense. This is enough to understand that this is a wine with great intensity, the fruit of a grape variety that is often used to bring fruit to wines that would otherwise be excessively lean. And again, it does not disappoint at all. To the nose, in fact, it strikes for the decision of its scents that recall the notes of fresh and well ripe fruit from the first moment Red fruits, especially wild cherry and currant. Then a pleasantly herbaceous note and a sweet spice finish. In the mouth it is full and gratifying. A wine that requires a tasty pairing to be fully at ease. Perfect with the tastiest of meats, it goes perfectly with game or venison but also with a board of intensely flavoured cheeses of medium and long ageing.
